I was born in Asten, Holland on the 12th of May, 1973. My family immigrated to the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand when I was four years old. If I believed in God I would thank him for blessing me with a “Kiwi” accent rather than a Dutch one. Yuck (no offence intended my brothers and sisters from the homeland!) I’m very proud, and so are my children, of my Dutch heritage.

I’m married to Carol with three beautiful children named Aimee(15), Samantha(13) and Jake(12). The kids are all winners and are getting a great start in life which I credit to our very pro-active parenting style.

Carol’s currently studying an Accounting major and blitzing it with straight A+’s. The future looks bright.

I barely scraped through a crappy education and left home to go dairy farming at the age of 15. Stupidest thing I ever did do. I became a guru farmer but hated milking cows(to this very day) and when I met Carol at 19 years of age I headed for town. From there things only got worse and after a couple of failed business attempts wound up sick from exhaustion.

Thats when I discovered the Internet around about 1996. Then everything changed. While recovering from illness I made approximately $50k online peddling affiliate programs.(ok…Adult ones…..there, I said it).

Since then I have gone full circle and am milking cows once again…1300 1400 150 175 of the fucking things.

I have developed a passion for tableless, usable, standards compliant web design. I love OSWD OWD. My goal is to become a full time web professional around about the time when Carol becomes a qualified accountant. That’s my mission. My mission has changed….stay tuned.

Random Facts

• I’m six foot 2 inchs tall with blue eyes. Fat people call me skinny.
• I’m a procrastinator. I’m going to fix this in 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010.
• We had a dog called “Boof”, about 12 22 0 chickens, three one two cats and two zero guinea pigs. The chickens are were the smartest of the aforementioned.
• I ride a Honda CRF250X (’05 model) Husqvarna TXC250 (08). I’m bloody fast for an old bugger.
• I listen to System of a Down, Linkin Park, trance and Fleetwood Mac is the greatest band of all time.
• I’m a qualified Open Cast Shot Firer. That means I can blow shit up good.
• I’m a Geek and a Hacker by the old definition.
• I built my own computer.
• I can’t ad-lib PHP code but I can get any existing code to do whatever I want it to.
• I love Open Source.
